POWER GENERATION

– Extensive experience in design, construction and operating

Norway has a century long tradition of designing, constructing and operating hydro power plants: from distributed miniature power generation to main power stations directly feeding the national grid. Similarly, in the North Sea, Norway has gained extensive experience in designing, constructing and operating all types of thermal power plants with an extensive range of fuel types and technologies.

The key success factor!

… has been the response to the customer’s requirements and tailor making the power plant solution to meet such requirements.

Similarly, in the North Sea, Norway has gained extensive experience in designing, constructing and operating all types of thermal power plants with an extensive range of fuel types and technologies.

Over the past decades, Jacobsen Elektro has built a number of power stations in Africa and Asia. One example is an existing complete power plant, which was bought and dismantled in China and then shipped to Vietnam where it was reassembled and commissioned. Other examples are power plants built in Uganda, Sierra Leone, East Timor, Liberia and Equatorial Guinea.

The key success factor has been the response to the customer’s requirements and tailor making the power plant solution to meet such requirements.

In response to the international power plant market changes, Jacobsen Electro has established itself as an Independent Power Producer (IPP). In Uganda Jacobsen Elektro has built, on turn-key basis, a 50 MW thermal power plant which is supplying central regions of Uganda with electricity. The power plant is owned, operated and maintained by Jacobsen Elektro’s sister company Jelco AS and after some years JELCO will transfer the ownership of the power plant to the Government of Uganda.
